Karl Numinen served five years as an elected member of the Family Law Council of the State Bar of Michigan. Karl is the author of numerous articles published in Grand Rapids Parenting magazine as well as an article titled “Property Holdings In Second Marriages,” which was published in a special edition of the Michigan Family Law Journal, in February, 1999.
A certified adoption attorney since 1995, Karl has handled a variety of contested adoptions at the trial and appellate levels, including winning a step-parent adoption case before a special panel of the Michigan Court of Appeals that resulted in the published opinion inIn Re: Caldwell, 225 Mich App 801; 571 NW2d 218 (1997), rev’d, 228 Mich App 116 (1998), cert denied, 457 Mich 865 (1998).
