Karl is the author of numerous articles published in Grand Rapids Parenting magazine as well as an article titled “Property Holdings In Second Marriages,” which was published in a special edition of the Michigan Family Law Journal, in February, 1999.

A certified adoption attorney since 1995, Karl has handled a variety of contested adoptions at the trial and appellate levels, including winning a step-parent adoption case before a special panel of the Michigan Court of Appeals that resulted in the published opinion inIn Re: Caldwell, 225 Mich App 801; 571 NW2d 218 (1997), rev’d, 228 Mich App 116 (1998), cert denied, 457 Mich 865 (1998).
